Beautiful interiors, a personal approach and the art of creating a home that feels like you.
There's something special about walking into a home that just feels right.
Not because everything matches or follows the latest trends, but because it has personality. A beautiful mix of textures, collected pieces, unexpected details and colours that somehow work together.
I've always believed our surroundings shape the way we live. The spaces we spend time in influence how we feel, how we connect and the memories we create.
I live and breathe design. It's something I've loved for as long as I can remember, and that passion carries through to every project I take on.
My approach is relaxed, personal and down to earth, but the service is thoughtful, considered and elevated from beginning to end. I believe creating a beautiful home should be an exciting and enjoyable experience, not an overwhelming one.
And while interior design, interior decorating and interior styling are often used interchangeably, they each bring something different to the process.
So, what's the difference, and which service is right for your home?
Interior Design: Looking at the Bigger Picture
Interior design considers how a space functions just as much as how it looks.
Depending on the project, this can involve spatial planning, layouts, lighting, materials, cabinetry and the overall relationship between different areas of a home.
For new builds and renovations, interior designers may work alongside architects, builders and other specialists to help bring a vision together. Structural changes and technical construction work require appropriately qualified professionals.
But creating a beautiful interior doesn't always mean changing the architecture.
Sometimes it's about seeing the potential in what's already there.
Interior Decorating: Bringing the Vision Together
This is where so much of the magic happens.
Interior decorating focuses on the overall look and feel of a space, from paint colours and flooring to furniture, fabrics, window furnishings, lighting and finishes.
It's about understanding how individual elements work together.
The warmth of timber against natural stone. A beautifully textured fabric paired with something sculptural. The way a particular colour changes throughout the day.
These decisions might seem small individually, but together they shape the entire feeling of a home.
I love exploring different combinations and finding that balance between something timeless and something a little unexpected.
For me, beautiful interiors should feel considered without feeling overly designed.
Interior Styling: The Details That Make It Personal
Interior styling is often described as the finishing layer, but I think it's much more than that.
It's what gives a room personality.
Artwork, furniture, objects, books, textiles and pieces collected over time all contribute to the story of a space.
I'm drawn to interiors that feel layered rather than overly coordinated. A contemporary chair alongside something vintage, a beautiful piece of photography or an unexpected colour that brings a room to life.
Not everything needs to match. In fact, sometimes the most interesting spaces are the ones that don't.
Good styling considers scale, proportion, texture and balance, but it should never feel like a formula.
The goal is to create something that feels effortless, even when every detail has been thoughtfully considered.
Finding Inspiration Beyond Interiors
One of my favourite things about design is that inspiration really is everywhere.
Fashion, art, architecture, travel, food and everyday life all influence the way I see interiors.
It might be the colour combination of an outfit, the atmosphere of a beautiful restaurant, the texture of a fabric or a piece of art that makes me stop and look twice.
I've always loved the relationship between fashion and interiors. The way colours, materials, shapes and textures can be brought together to create something with personality.
When I'm developing concepts for clients, I bring together imagery, colours, finishes, furniture and materials to explore how everything feels as a whole.
Sometimes it's the unexpected combinations that make a concept come together.
I don't believe every home needs to fit neatly into a particular design style. I think the most interesting interiors often borrow from different influences, creating something that feels individual rather than predictable.
And that's what makes the creative process so exciting.
So, Which Service Do You Actually Need?
It really depends on what you're hoping to achieve.
If you're planning significant structural changes or a complex renovation, you may need an interior designer or architect with the appropriate technical expertise.
If you've purchased a new build and want to introduce warmth, personality and character, interior decorating may be exactly what you're looking for.
And if you already have a beautiful home but feel something is missing, thoughtful furniture selections and styling can completely transform the way it looks and feels.
At Sammi Interiors, my work brings together interior decorating, furniture sourcing and styling.
From colour palettes, flooring and finishes to furniture layouts, lighting, window furnishings, artwork and the final details, I help clients bring their vision together.
Whether it's furnishing an entire home or refreshing a single room, every project is approached with the same level of care and attention.
A high-end service doesn't need to feel formal or intimidating.
I want my clients to feel comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions and enjoying the process. It's a collaborative experience, with professional guidance, thoughtful selections and someone there to take the overwhelm out of bringing everything together.
Because creating your home should be just as enjoyable as living in it.
A Home Should Feel Like You
Before I begin designing, I want to understand how my clients live.
What does a typical weekend look like? Do they love entertaining? Are there children running through the house? Do they want their home to feel calm and restorative, or layered with colour and personality?
I think these conversations are just as important as choosing the right sofa or paint colour.
Because the most beautiful homes aren't necessarily the most expensive or the most perfectly styled.
They're the ones that feel authentic.
The dining table where everyone gathers. The artwork that reminds you of somewhere special. The favourite chair that somehow becomes part of your daily routine.
Over time, these spaces become part of our story.
And that's what I love most about what I do.
Creating considered, personal interiors that feel beautiful to live in, evolve over time and become the backdrop to memories still to be made.
